The History

Newmarket has now grown to a population of 87,942 according to the 2016 census. The population growth rate has surpassed that of Ontario and is suspected to keep growing through 2026. It has the fourth-largest population in York Region!

In 2018 the town official opened their second splash pad with plans to open a third! Frank Stronach Park is open daily from 10 am to 9 pm. An outdoor ice rink and community space are in the design phase to be located at the Ray Twinney Recreation Complex.
