Oakville is located on the north shore of Lake Ontario between Toronto and Hamilton. It is Ontario’s largest town. In 1962, smaller villages merged together to creake Oakville.Oakville is made up of the neighbourhoods Old Oakville, Kerr Village, Bronte, Eastlake, Clearview, College Park, Iroquois Ridge North, Iroquois Ridge South, Glen Abbey, Palermo, River Oaks, Uptown Core, and West Oak Trails.

This is based on the economy, affordability, safety and culture, access to healthcare services, transit, and schools of the town. Oakville has made it on the list of top 20 best places to live for 5 years in a row. One of the reasons that put this town on the list is that it is prosperous and still affordable. It is also considered one of the best places to retire and one of the best places to raise a family.


Oakville is full of arts and recreational programs. For arts, Oakville Centre for the performing arts is a great place to start. You can also visit the Oakville Museum and the Oakville Galleries. Oakville is also full of family friendly festivals like the Downtown Oakville Jazz Festival, Waterfront Festival, and the For The Love of Arts Festival.





Oakville School Systems


Elementary schools and high schools in Oakville are a mix of both private and public schools. It has one of the highest ratios of private schools to student population in the country. Oakville is covered by the Halton District School Board, Halton Catholic District School Board, Conseil scolaire Viamonde, and Conseil scolaire catholique MonAvenir. The International Baccalaureate Program is offered by St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School and White Oaks Secondary School. Appleby College, a private school for grades seven to twelve, and St. Mildred’s-Lightbourn School, ,and independent all-girls school, is also located in Oakville. It is also home to Trafalgar Campus of Sheridan College.
